Situated on the exact same block as Clark Road and sourdough pizza maker Grá, Butchr Bar’s retail arm markets organic, antibiotic-free meats butchered and dry-aged in-house by chef Danny Rodriguez (previously of Cobi’s in Santa Monica) and sous cook Chianne Mallari. Butchr Bar’s multi-use space feels like a more laid-back version of Curtis Rock’s Gwen and is reminiscent of the Butcher, The Baker, The Coffee Manufacturer on the Sunset Strip and the notoriously shuttered Belcampo Meat Co

The journey has come cycle for the Blackneys given that opening Butchr Bar in mid-August, as Tyson hails from a family of Aussie food merchants going back to the 1920s. “There’s a saying in this service, you’re either born right into the meat market or you’re married right into it,” states Bridgette.

The Blackneys hired Tyson’s sister and Pink Jam Trading developer Addy Nuthall to lighten up the 1,700-square-foot room with a 30-foot concrete bar, soft rose insides, and public tables. Artisanal touches are placed throughout Butchr Bar, along with family treasures and art work from good friends in Australia.
