Bar Jubilee: Rekindling Sunset Strip Nightlife with Unique Cocktails

Bar Jubilee, from the Blue Collar team, revives Sunset Strip nightlife with extravagant circus-themed decor, meticulously crafted cocktails using unique ingredients, and a focus on creating a neighborhood bar atmosphere.
The Sunset Strip’s most recent nightlife spot is Bar Jubilee, a mixed drink bar by the group behind Fairfax’s Blue Collar and Cold Shoulder speakeasy. The group took over the previous Rock & Reilly’s space and transformed it into an extravagant nighttime destination where meticulously mixed drinks make use of house-prepared casts, distinct syrups, and fresh juices. Bar Jubilee, which opens Thursday, October 16, hopes to rekindle the Strip’s busy past as something companion Vincent Laresca views as a crucial requirement for Los Angeles right now: a real neighborhood bar and third area.
Circus-Themed Extravagance
Fans of Blue Collar and Cold Shoulder will promptly clock Cold Shoulder’s luxuriant style. Bar Jubilee takes the fun romp right into circus and circus territory with deluxe wall drapes, a long copper bar, velvety fabric on the booths, hanging gold lights, and unique images of songs legends like David Bowie as the renowned Ziggy Stardust, plus a paint of Amy Winehouse in full clown makeup. The group added an upstairs recreation room with a tv and pool table to finish the 3,000-square-foot space.
Signature Cocktail Creations
Laresca and his team established Bar Jubilee’s menu, which matches the circus style. Find popcorn syrup and fat-washed bourbon for Jubilee’s Orville Old Fashioned with Angostura bitters and salt.
“See what’s taking place at Barney’s Beanery,” says Laresca. “You can go there to have a personal link. You can satisfy someone brand-new from a various history or go on a date. My buddies and their kids do not most likely to clubs any longer; they favor bars. Jubilee is a place where people can talk with one another.”
