Columbus Diners: Breakfast & Lunch Hotspots

Diners are old school, timeless, and legendary areas where morning meal and lunch are served throughout the day. When you go to a diner, are you team breakfast or team lunch? I generally go with breakfast since eggs are eggcellent, and biscuits and gravy are pure comfort on a plate. Below are five feast-worthy diners in Columbus:

Starliner Diner: Cuban-Inspired Delights

Starliner Diner (4121 Main St, Hilliard) With its unusual décor and Cuban-inspired menu, Starliner Diner has been a long time Columbus fave. For morning meal, I recommend the Starliner Burrito: chorizo, clambered eggs, jack cheese, and refried beans all concluded and topped with ranchero sauce and sour cream, served with their crispy home fries. For lunch, opt for the Cuban Sandwich, piled with thick-sliced marinaded pork, hickory-smoked pork, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles on a pushed sub roll, and served with plantains.

Delaney’s Restaurant: Conewich & PastaSalvi

Delaney’s Restaurant (multiple) For morning meal, try the Morning meal Conewich: 3 cosy scrambled eggs with smoked onions, green peppers, and cheese, all stuffed into a conewich and offered with shredded hash browns. For lunch: PastaSalvi, a Columbus favorite. Egg noodles in a lotion sauce with scallions are coated in panko, fried till gold, and offered with a velvety center that makes every bite worth it.

Coffee Shop Creekside: Huge Portions & Classics

Coffee Shop Creekside (53 Granville St, Gahanna) A comfy area staple that’s all about huge portions and home cooking. For morning meal, order the Huge Awful: sliced up redskin potatoes, sausage gravy, 3 eggs, cheese, and bacon loaded high up on two biscuits. For lunch, the Patty Melt is a must, served on smoked rye with sautéed onions and provolone cheese for that perfect diner-style bite.

Chef-O-Nette Dining Establishment (2090 Tremont Ctr) They nail all the restaurant staples, yet I’ve got two favorites. For morning meal, go with the Biscuits and Gravy: two buttermilk biscuits topped with sausage gravy and served with 2 eggs. For lunch, their housemade broasted hen fingers are a must. Crispy, gold, and offered with fries and housemade ranch.
